How To Play Minecraft On LAN TLauncher

The game allows you to create a server in your own world. This will allow all players to connect to your server. While everything is fairly straightforward, there are many limitations. In this article, we will go over each one in detail. Select the configuration type that you want and follow the steps.

Server configuration when you're on the same Wi Fi or LAN network with another player

This setting is best if you have multiple computers that are close together and are connected to the same Wi-Fi network or LAN network (connected via cable).

Windows: Open the Start Menu on the PC that will host the server. In the search box, type cmd to open this program.

Enter ipconfig into the window. Look for your local IP. It starts with 192.168.*. *, for instance, 192.168.1.47. (Yours will be different!). Copy it.

MacOS: To find the local IP, open the Terminal (you can type "Terminal" in the Mac search and find it), type ifconfig * and copy it.

Go to your current world and click the Pause menu. The chat will display a message about the successful opening of the server, as well as the server port, 31790 in the example (you will have another).

Connect your server to another computer. Open the version with TL icon.

Enter the IP address and port we have earlier, 192.168.1.47.31790 in this example. If everything is OK, the connection will be established! Now you can play on the server together with a friend.

Configuration of a Server for Playing Over the Internet with a Hamachi Player

If you cannot be with another player on the same network physically, because PCs are far from each other, you can create a special network over the Internet using Hamachi.

You can do the following on both computers: Create a Hamachi Account and download the program. After clicking on the link, click the Download button.

Install the program and authorize using the created data. Now, click on the Hamachi PC and click "Create network", enter any network name and password. The new network will appear in the window.

Open TLauncher and choose the version with a TL icon. Then, run the game. It is better to log in to your TLauncher.org account. You will not be able connect to the server if you choose the version without the TL icon.

Go to your world, and click on the Pause menu (Esc), to open to LAN. The chat will display information about the server's successful opening, as well as the port number, 60000 in this example (you will also have another).

Click on "Connect with an existing network" to connect to another PC. Enter the network name or password that you have previously created. If the connection is successful your friend's machine will be visible under the Hamachi window.

You can also open the TL version on another PC by going to Multiplayer and opening Direct Connect.

Now, enter the address from Hamachi in the IP field (of the PC, on which the server is opened) + port that we got earlier, 25.60.187.78:60000 in the example. If everything is in order, the connection will now be established. You can now play with a friend on the server.

Setting up a Local Minecraft Server with Mods

Once you have configured the server to play on the same WiFi (LAN) network or using Hamachi, you can install mods and play with your friends with them. The instructions are very simple.

Install the exact same mods on all clients. Everything should be identical. The Forge version should also be the same. For example, ForgeOptiFine (1.12.2). Remember that the version should be with the TL icon!

Now create and connect the server using the same steps as above depending on your network. Now you can play Minecraft mods!

Possible Problems & Solutions

- When connecting to the server "Invalid Session" or "Check User Name" error appears.

Solution: You must run the version with a TL icon. Otherwise, you will need a game licence. If you are running exactly this one, make sure that the "Account Management" ->"Use TLauncher Skins" checkbox is enabled (in Launcher).

- When connecting to the server "Io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection time out: no further information" error appears.

Solution: The game couldn't find information about this server so the network configuration was incorrect. Configure the network correctly or disable anti-virus/firewall on your host computer.

- Chunk loading is occurring when you connect to the server. However, the server immediately drops the connection (there is an error).

Solution: The network configuration is correct, but the antivirus and firewall are dropping the connection. Disable them or configure them properly. games
