Minecraft is a great game that you should play with your friends. Sometimes, you'll be all mucking in to create something awesome or perhaps using mods to recreate Elden Ring, and other times you'll be exploring servers online to see what the internet has to offer. Sometimes, things can go sour when you play online with strangers. This is exactly what the latest Minecraft snapshot is aiming to fix.

Minecraft snapshot 22W24A is here today, and it's progressing towards 1.19.1 by making some bug fixes and two new features. The primary one is chat reporting that lets you report players who are sending "abusive messages" in the game chat. The blog says that "any reports made during testing periods may not be processed," but that it is important to recognize that toxic players are a vital part of any online game. This could be an important move. MINECRAFT

Chat reporting is available in the social interactions screen. You'll have to report chat messages individually and choose a category. This is probably to protect the system from being misused, as you cannot simply create a generic report of a player - you have to detail what they've done, and the blog states that your report will then go through a moderation team. It's unclear what constitutes a legitimate and useful report, but it's worth knowing the details.

Another major change is that you can now duplicate the awesome Minecraft allay. This can be done by providing them with an amethyst-shard. However, duplicates have the benefit of a 2.5-minute cooling time. This should help alleviate woes around how many mobs of allay there are. Plus, an adorable thing can only be good news, right?

We are hugely impressed by the Mario Kart mod for Minecraft. It brings in the karts that we know and love, but with some cool aquatic features too.
